The following describes the construction of a coupling transformer for use with the AR7420 PLC IC.

Specifications:

Frequency Range:  2 to 68 MHz

Turns Ratio (TXRX:PL):  3:3

TX/RX Winding Inductance:  12.5 uH @ 2 MHz

PL Inductance:  12.5 uH @ 2 MHz

TX Leakage Inductance:  TBD (PL winding shorted)

• Frequency Range: 2 to 30 MHz.

• Turns Ratio: (TX:RX:PL): 1:4:3.

• TX Winding Inductance: 1.4 uH @ 2 MHz.

• RX Winding Inductance: 23 uH @ 2 MHz.

• PL Inductance: 11.7 uH @ 2 MHz.

• TX Leakage Inductance: 15 nH @ 2 MHz (PL winding shorted).
