Electric vehicle charging station --The Application Case of RF

     With new energy vehicle (NEV) ownership exceeding 40 million units (2025 data), new energy EV chargers have become a "standard facility" in urban infrastructure, community supporting facilities, and highway service areas. Public fast chargers (60kW-180kW) can charge to 80% battery capacity in 30 minutes, while residential slow chargers (3.5kW-7kW) meet overnight home charging needs. Even logistics parks and scenic spot parking lots have deployed dedicated chargers in batches, forming a "vehicle-pile-network" connected charging ecosystem. The stable operation of all this relies on the precise internal hardware composition and support of key components.
   The "Core Framework" of New Energy EV Chargers: Disassembly of Four Major Systems
Taking DC fast chargers as an example, new energy EV chargers mainly consist of four modules: power supply system, power conversion system, control and protection system, and communication system. Each system works in synergy through circuit boards:

·Power Supply System: Connects to the 380V three-phase grid power, responsible for introducing municipal electricity into the device, including basic components such as air switches and contactors;

·Power Conversion System: Centered on the AC-DC/DC-DC conversion circuit board, it is the key to converting "municipal electricity to vehicle battery-adapted voltage" and the main application scenario for passive electronic components;

·Control and Protection System: Composed of an MCU control board, current/voltage detection circuits, and overload protection circuits, ensuring "safe and precise" charging processes;

·Communication System: Uses 4G/5G or Ethernet modules to realize signal interaction between the charger, cloud platform, and vehicle BMS (Battery Management System), supporting remote monitoring and intelligent scheduling.

The power conversion circuit board is the "heart" of fast chargers, responsible for converting 380V AC to 200-750V DC (to adapt to battery voltages of different vehicle models).  Our  RF directional coupler  was  install in the board , responsible for urge suppression" to prevent core chips from being damaged by sudden grid voltage rises .
